The workshop provides an opportunity to broaden knowledge about the application of input-output analysis into food production (agribusiness) footprint research. During the workshop, the methodology for calculating the environmental intensity in the food production system will be presented. The amount of greenhouse gas emissions per unit of gross domestic product is used as the intensity indicator, combining environmental and economic aspects. Fully comparable emission intensity indicators of the food production system calculated based on the mentioned methodology, for all EU countries will be presented. Moreover, the partial results of emission intensities at particular stages of food production will be estimated. Based on these results, it is possible to identify hotspots of ecological load that may occur at any stage of food production.
