The aim of the project is to develop a variation of solutions for the possible implementation of the direct election of mayors into the Czech system of local self-government at the level of the substantive intent of the law. The main result of the project should ensure that the application researcher (Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic) has various solutions that correspond to the government's assignment or political preferences of legislators, but at the same time - based on the analysis of the experience of European countries where direct election has already been introduced - eliminate potential risks and negative impacts on the functioning of the local government system.
