The master´s degree study branch Economics and Management that is being taught in English is in correspondence with the traditional and successful Czech study branch Provoz a ekonomika, that is known for its graduate’s success on both Czech and foreign labour market, providing them with excellent job opportunities.
The study branch is aimed at the students who are interested in the area of economics and management. As the interdisciplinary approach, it integrates the economic and managerial basis, quantitative methods, ICT, and social-science disciplines.
The aim of the study is to prepare the graduates for economic, managerial, entrepreneurial, administrative, and other positions and activities within the bounds of both the national and international labour markets, e.g., for the managerial positions of various types of enterprises, ruling positions in governmental or communal institutions, leading positions in organizations of the traditional economic sectors, entrepreneurial activities, the positions in both national and international organizations and institutions, as well as the involvement in special communities or in non-profit sector.
The capabilities expected are based on an overview of knowledge types, e.g.,
- applied economics
- processes of globalization, integration, and regionalization,
- socio-cultural interconnection of the economy,
- permanently sustainable connections of economic development,
- relevant regional, demographic and administrative problems.
In the course of their study, students obtain the capabilities enabling them to concentrate on conceptual solutions of economic problems, economic development in social and environmental connections, on specification and generalization of mutual interconnection of the economic processes and factors in a dynamic perspective, application of legal and environmental principles in all stages of decision-making, and on processing and implementation of programmes and projects aimed at the support of economic development on the regional level.
