The Department of Statistics is a substantive part of CZU for all academic and research activities within the areas of mathematical statistics, probability theory, applied statistics and financial and actuarial mathematics.
As a scientific discipline statistic represents an essential component in the education of economists, systems engineers and computer scientists. The department therefore focuses on the development of education and demonstration of a wide scope of mathematical-statistical disciplines including the use of the statistical software systems in social-economic, technical, agricultural and financial areas.
The department also provides expert consultancy service for the university community as well as for others.
