The department’s academic staff contributes to scientific research and counselling in the following fields:

An overarching principle of the department is to enable the use of methods for data processing and mathematical modelling in the Agri-Food sector with consideration of the specific attributes of the agricultural environment. Another basic principle for the department's work is the consideration of the geographic nature of the majority of agrarian data and the need to search for tools for their efficient analysis and further use to support the top management decision making.
