The primary aim of the faculty is to expose students and to teach them to understand and analyse the basic economic processes and decision making within the market economy. Furthermore the focus of the department is on acquainting the students with the latest knowledge in the economic theory field.
Students are exposed to the basic knowledge of the economic theories in the bachelor courses Microeconomy and Macroeconomy. Follow up courses within the master study programmes deepen the students’ knowledge further into the field of international theories, international monetary and financial systems, world economy, knowledge economy or new economic trends such as virtual currency systems, crowdfunding or behavioural economy.
The academic staff of the department are important economic theory experts with extensive scientific research publication history as well as important professionals with experience in fields such as state management, in currency trade on Wall Street and many others.
