Profile of the graduate of SEEE
It is supposed that the graduate masters the theoretical foundations of the study area, the basic methods of scientific work in the field of study and the basic forms of permanent collection of worldwide knowledge in the field of study for lifelong learning. Graduates are suppose to be able to design descriptive and normative economic models of economic processes at the macro and microeconomic level and collect relevant documents needed for their formalization. Furthermore, the ability of generalization of scientific knowledge into the form of economic laws is assumed together with their application in the interpretation of specific economic tasks to promote sustainable development. Graduates should be able to independently work on solutions for serious economic problems, including environmental protection at sectoral and company level within the agrarian sector as an integral part of the national economy. Graduates should manage alternative approaches for solving economic problems on both the business and corporate level and be capable of supporting interdisciplinary synthesis supporting the optimization of economic actions and processes towards sustainable development.
Objectives of the study programme
The aim of the study programme is the scientific education of highly qualified specialists in the field of economic processes at enterprise and sectoral levels, equipped with purposeful interdisciplinary knowledge. Graduates of the proposed study programme are likely to find employment in scientific and research institutions, universities, government and EU institutions, international organizations, national and supranational enterprises and companies, businesses focused on services and counselling, or in banking and financial sector. The interdisciplinary nature of the study will also allow for a complex integration and a high degree of adaptability of graduates to changing labor market conditions.
Concept of the study programme
The length of study is four years, which provides sufficient time for the students' research and for processing of a high quality doctoral thesis. Great emphasis in the study load of the study programme Sectoral economics and Economics of enterprises is put on the research work of the students. Such emphasis is projected also to the number and structure of basic mandatory exams. In addition to the English and a second foreign language exams, the PhD student must pass an exam related to the core subject of the faculty and the core subject of the field and an exam of a subjects related to the topic of the dissertation and its processing. Besides to these basic fields of study, the faculty provides number of other courses in order to ensure the expected level of knowledge of a graduate. This structure allows that students concentrate mainly on their research leading to a high quality doctoral thesis.

The condition for admission to the doctoral study programme of the FEM CZU Prague is the successful passing of the entrance examination and the proper completion of the Master's degree programme.
